OUR MISSION

The Boston Festival Orchestra is committed to bringing the highest caliber of artistic performance to the Greater Boston community through creative and relevant programming, featuring Boston’s own professional musicians and renowned soloists. Through engagement with local artists, organizations, and communities, the BFO presents accessible and educational concerts that enrich the culture of the city through music.

OUR STORY

On behalf of the Boston Festival Orchestra, it is our pleasure to welcome you to the official website of the BFO, and invite you to take part in our upcoming 2022 Summer Mainstage Season and Chamber Series! After such a hugely successful first season, we believe more than ever in the importance of music in our communities, and hope that you will join us on this journey to healing and health through music. We have so much to offer in our second season, including a performance of Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods in collaboration with the NEMPAC Opera Project in June, and three incredible full orchestra concerts in July in the historic Jordan Hall in the New England Conservatory. Highlights include Debussy Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun, Brahms Symphony No. 2, Ravel Tombeau de Couperin, and so much more. We're especially excited to welcome guest soloist Evan Kahn who will be performing a cello concerto with us on July 17, and BFO's own Principal Flute Allison Parramore, soloing on July 24.

If you are returning for more or are brand new to our community, we can't wait bring music to you! Tickets go on sale May 1, with special early bird discounts to look out for. We hope to see you soon!

We are thankful that you can be a part of the BFO community! Wishing you health, happiness, and harmony.
